Effects of Water Extract of So Poong Hwal Hyul Tang on the Renal Function in the Conscious Rabbits

Abstract
|
|
|
This experiment was designed to investigate on the effects of water extract of So Poong Hwal Hyul Tang on renal function in conscious rabbits.
1. Urine electrolyte, urine volume, glomerular filtration rate renal plasma flow and free water clearance were decreased by water extract of So Poong Hwal Hyul. Tang in dose 1 ㎖/㎏ i.v.
2. There was no change in urine potassium.
3. After 40 minutes glomerular filtration rate was increased but free water clearance decreased.
These data suggest that anti-diuretic effect of water extract of So Poong Hwal Hyul Tang may be caused by :
1) depressor response of arterial blood pressure in rabbits
2) release of anti diuretic hormone.
